More Paint on Text pages!
In the studio today: Serendipity! I am painting pictures on sheets of text torn from a not very new book, something I got from a used shop for less than $1, and it seemed somewhat boring, but almost victorian enough be be interesting.
Today I decided to do a copy of a woman from my Gustave Moreau book. This was quite pleasing as Moreau is my favorite artist and I had never tried painting something ~Moreau~ before. After finishing, I randomly tore out another page - and as I was searching for words to outline (and not paint over) I found these words (scattered through the page, I will put quotes around the words that are together) "What a curious coincidence!" "done in a half mystic, half classical manner," "style of Gustave Moreau" "beautiful" "curious charm" "a very personal period piece."
WOW! I don't care what anyone thinks, I'm going to take that as a sign that Gustave Moreau really is my muse, and he listens when I talk to him.
I decided to paint my other muse on this image, to make it a personal piece, and I won't be selling it. (but that doesn't mean I won't make magnets of it)

I'm very much enjoying your wok on text pages as I myself do work with altered books. It's nice to see another artist's take. He looks fabulous! I like the texture and the patterns you are using.
