They came, half delirious. by zyphryus They came, half delirious. by zyphryus
I had so much fun with this.

1' x 1' panel.
acrylic, collage, and fimo clay noses!

See the Close-up side view of the noses!: [link]

The text in the painting, from top to right to down:

"They came, half delirious."
"higher things?"
"an already complex dream?"
"paralyzed extravagance..."

fanstically interesting. especially the look in the eyes of the stripie guy. the way the shadow is cast from the noses is a truly great effect to the whole piece :)

have you ever seen the movie "MirrorMask"??
this piece really reminds me of the dream-like fairy tale aspect of that film.
It has a very "Cirque de Soleil" quality...
and great job with incorporating the mixed media elements.
take care....drive safely

Yep, I have indeed seen MirrorMask! :D It is one of my favorite films, visually.
I recently ordered a DVD of other small film works by Dave McKean. Very crazy and fun stuff. Inspiring.
its called "The Keano Show" And I always love cirque du soleil stuff. I thought of 'circus' after making this too. :)

I thought the visuals of MirrorMask were alright.
I would've prefered less CG characters and more in camera puppetry effects like the Henson Company is famous for, but I guess that's too much to ask...haha
I just did a search of "Keanoshow" and it looks interesting.
